The Yarra River is a significant natural assets in Victoria. Engaged by Melbourne Water, Natural Capital and Climate (formerly Natural Capital Economics) identified and valued the ecosystems service provided by the river and its riparian zones. Both rural and urban services were identified, and their economic values quantified. This study covered economic values attributable to: the waterway, riparian zone health, recreation, aesthetic, cultural and heritage values.
